Why Elway Should Like Tebow...at Least for Now...

So we all should know that it is way too early to judge Tim Tebow, especially on the throwing part of his quarterbacking. That being said, if we do look at how Tebow has done so far, he should be getting a lot of compliments from John Elway, especially if John remembers how his career started.

Obviously we can't yet know if Tebow will develop like Elway did, but for at least the first 7 games of his career, he looks like a lot better QB. Just goes to show you that it might be just a tad early to judge how good he will be. Here is a comparison of Tebow vs Elway that I have put together here at Fact-Based Football comparing the 2 QB's over their first 7 starts.

  1. Fact based and loving it!!!!

Maybe John Elway doesn't remember when he was heavily scrutinized as a rookie for the Broncos with his every move making the front page of the Rocky Mountin News and Denver Post. The main number in the NFL is Wins, Losses and Championships. Tebow is a winner pure and simple....he's won at every level he has played so far, and while it's early and he's still cutting his teeth - his trajectory as a top NFL quarterback looks great.

The gray hairs of the NFL say that Tebow is not a prototype NFL Quarteback, I say buck that trend - and be original and let Tebow change the way that the whole NFL plays the game....it's much more exciting his way and he wins. (I'm a little gray haired myself by the way - so I feel I can say that).

If the Denver Broncos are dead set on drafting a quarteback - some folks say they should draft Denard Robinson in the third or fourth round in case Tebow gets hurt. This way you have a similar type of back-up. The Broncos shouldn't let the NFL define them with drop back passers -they can blaze their own trail with the wide open game they are playing.

Elway was a great player and he owns Denver, and I'd sure hate to see him fall from grace (the court of public opinion) because he can't recognize a winner with who he himself probably has more alike qualities than not.

Anyway, just saying - Go Tebow!!! You're a winner - as a person and a player!!

  2. Maybe John Elway should look at these stats and rethink some of his comments.

  3. What? You have to play like others think you should play? Did that stop Elway from making it happen in his Super Bowl wins? NO! He did what he had to in order to win. Tebow is doing the same thing, only others don't think he is doing it the way they think it should be done.

    Go Tebow!! Just keep winning.
